This organ, which comes from St Nicolas's church of Schirrhein, in Alsace (France), has been bought in 1995 by the municipality of Ploëmel, on the "Association des amis de l'Orgue de Ploëmel" initiative.
Dismantling, transit, mending and reassembling have been executed by Bernard ANDRAULT, amateur organ builder, and the Friends's Association of Ploëmel's Organ's members.
The gallery, realised by Rémi LE BAIL, cabinetmaker, makes this large organ being harmioniouly integrated in the typical breton St Andrew church of Ploëmel.
Built in 1959 by Curt Schwenkedel, the organ is made up of 2 56 notes keyboard, a 32 notes pedal-board and 1164 pipes which allow 20 registers.
The instrument has been inaugurated on 1996 August 3rd with a recital given by Christine RISKINE-GUIGUEN.
